Tammy left this morning to get home in time for her 5th anniversary. Daniele, the woman in whose apartment we're staying has also left so I have the whole place to myself.

 

Yesterday, we wandered around the Marais - very fun and funky. The weather is great - very cool. Everyone in Paris speaks some English. It's very easy to communicate since I know a little French. Of course, the food has been great. Just ate at a little vegetarian restaurant that is great! You know you're on vacation when you start thinking about the nect meal as soon as you finish the one in front of you. So much food, so little time.

Granny Janny and Tammy made it to Paris safe and sound. Tammy came in all the way from the airport on public transportation - first the train, then the metro. Granny Janny has too much luggage and she was tired, so she got a taxi.

They were both very tired. When you fly to Europe you fly smack into the next day and lose the night and the night's sleep. Unfortunately, Granny Janny snores, so Tammy is having trouble sleeiping. She might take a sleeping pill tonight.

When we got here last evening, we went to the Eiffel Tower and Tammy wished she could make out with Ray. Granny Janny was sorry about her luck.

We have been eating very well. There is wine in Paris - imagine that! We bought Lindsey presents for her birthday. Today we went to Notre Dame, had a great lunch and now we're walking around the Latin Quarter. When Tammy tries to say anything in French, they laugh at her.

Someone please call Ma to let her know that terrorists did not blow up the planes or the trains or the taxi or the Metro. Please tell Lindsey and Bryn that Tammy loves them and every child on the street in Paris reminds her of them. And every couple making out on benches reminds her of Ray - and there are lots of them.

They are staying in someone's apartment. The bedroom window looks out over the courtyard and you can hear babies crying and cats meowing in the middle of the night. Tammy feels right at home. The hostess is very nice and helpful and makes good coffee.

I'm packed and ready to go. Granny Jannie leaves for Paris tonight at 9. Tammy Jo is meeting me there. We're staying at a bed and breakfast near the Eiffel Tower.

 

Jim is driving me to Philly. First, a stop at Duke's for some lunch by the river. Then to Philly to catch the plane.
